Hi there! I’m L.J. Bothell – educator, curriculum developer, and designer, and I don’t stand on much formality. I’m from Seattle, WA, and I have been teaching, designing, and working on communications of one kind or another for a lot of years. I have a Master’s in Education, Learning, and Technology; a BA in Liberal Arts/History; an AAS in print graphic design; a Certificate in web design; and a Certificate in web development. It’s a wonder my head doesn’t fall right off!
I’ve been lucky to have trained with some wonderful instructors and to have worked a lot in the private/public job market. I have experience in permanent, contract, freelance, and pro-bono work. I have worked in healthcare, real estate, education, nonprofit, transportation, travel, and marketing-related fields. I function on both PCs and Macs and in many programs. I have worked in web / print design & production, project planning & coordination, a teensy bit o’dev, administrative staffing, and sometimes I write and get stuff published. Oh, and I am terribly addicted to Starbucks mochas. Terribly.
This website has a link to my resume, and pages which show a portfolio of work I have designed/produced. I have have taught web authoring, web career strategies, Microsoft Office programs, Adobe design/image programs, surveys of computing technology, career skills, high-school student restarts, and more. In design and writing/publishing projects, I have been a solo creative, team member, and/or a coordinating leader. I also worked seamlessly with a diverse range of clientele, teams, designers, consultants, and vendors in fast-paced and demanding situations.
