Assignment #1: Personalizing Options

Summary
I’ll be grading your work based on what you upload to the Assignment 1 section of the StudioBast E-Learning tool. Name the file exactly like I require or you will lose points. DO NOT email your assignment to me - I will ignore it and you will get a ZERO.

 

This assignment will focus on recognizing PowerPoint personalizing of options, views, and context menus.

 

Create a five (5) page slide document in PowerPoint 2010. Format the pages and use Print Screen graphics to look like the Required Outcome below. Based on Chapters 2 and 15. DUE Sunday, October 14. 15 points.

To Do

In PowerPoint 2010/2007, create a new PowerPoint file and name it assign01firstinitiallastname.pptx in your USB Flash drive's MIC104t/Assignments folder. Example: assign01lbothell.pptx

 

Open the link for the Required Outcome so you can see the specific format I want you to accomplish. Use this Required Outcome example to guide you in doing the following tasks:

  • The file will start with one standard Title and Text page. Type the assignment info and your OWN name like in the Required Outcome.
  • Add 4 more Blank slides, using Home/New Slide/Blank.
  • On each slide, add a Text Box like in the Required Outcome, and type in the same page titles I did.
  • Change the Font Size for 4 page titles to 32pt.
  • Change the color of these 4 page titles to either dark blue, dark green, or dark orange - your preference.
  • Minimize the Ribbon
  • Click the Office button, and select Powerpoint Options, then select Customize and choose Quick Access Toolbar.
  • Look at the options I show in page 2 of MY Required Outcome, and select those as well. Unselect any that I do NOT show in mine.
  • BEFORE you save, press the PrintScreen key on your keyboard to capture a copy. Then Save the settings, and on Page 2 of your slides, Paste the screenshot. Manually resize the image so it fits like in the Required Outcome.
  • Click the Office button, and select Powerpoint Options, then select Advanced. Focus on the top half, and change the Maximum Number of Undos to 50, Number of Recent Documents to 10, and the other items I have checked.
  • BEFORE you save, press the PrintScreen key on your keyboard to capture a copy. Then Save the settings, and on Page 3 of your slideshow, Paste the screenshot image. Manually resize the image so it fits like in the Required Outcome.
  • Maximize the Ribbon.
  • On page 4 of your slideshow, hover your mouse over the Title Text and right-click to show the Context Menu. Take a screenshot, then move your mouse away from the text.
  • Paste the screenshot image on Page 4 of your slideshow and resize like the other images.
  • Choose the Slide Sorter View, take a screenshot, then choose the Normal View again. Paste the screenshot image on Page 5 of your slideshow and resize like the other images.
  • Save your document frequently.

 

When you are finished, log in to the StudioBast E-Learning tool, and in your MIC104t class, click the link for Assignment 1. At the Upload page, upload your assignment file. Verify that the correct file appears after you finish uploading.

 

Tips

  • Use your book as a refresher.
  • Save your document frequently.
  • Finish and upload by 8:00pm on Sunday evening so you are completely on time!!
