Fee Structure

At StudioBast, our pricing structure is as simple as our process. We talk with you and analyze your project to get an accurate estimate, prepare an opening invoice and agreement for the starting advance, and get right to work. Remaining fees are determined by our agreement - usually with certain milestones/sign-offs on your project. For instance, if your project is short and simple, usually the advance and final fee does it; complex projects with multiple phases and longer timelines may have two or more key billing stages before our work continues.

Our goal is to draft as accurate of an estimate as possible, so we'll usually pepper you with focusing questions to make sure we've captured the breadth of your needs. Once we've got that, we'll outline the project scope, then finalize our estimate so we agree on what we're working toward, what is a billable part of the project, and what would be considered for additional fees (such as sudden rush work, beyond-the-scope revisions, etc.)

StudioBast follows the standard AIGA design practices in assigning an advance fee prior to beginning work. Depending on the size and timeline of the project, the advance will usually be 33%-50% of the estimated project fee. The personalized Project Agreement shares terms for advance return. Additional milestone fees are due immediately since they may affect the progress of the project, and the final fee should be paid in full within 10 business days of project delivery.

StudioBast also has per-task pricing and package prices. However, when developing a new project with a client we provide a project estimate before signing the agreement. If the scope of the project changes substantially, we then revisit the project scope and amend the project agreement and fee structure before continuing. Extra fees will be negotiated if your project scope changes, if your project requires extra capabilities and personnel to be added, if StudioBast is contracted to handle stock and copyright items used, etc.
